Rubberizing a piece of metal

What could I use to rubberize a piece of metal? 5"x8" Here's what I have in mind Plasti-Dip with a clear coat to extend the longevity of the Plasti-Dip.
Flex-Seal same thing with a clear coat on top or Alumilite? But I don't think I could dip the whole piece in Aluminite that would be a giant mess. Any other products on the market I need something permanent and durable.

What is the intended use for this metal? Would something like a can of aerosol bed liner work? It's doubtful a clear coating would hold up long term over any flexible coating.

It's a 1/8" piece of metal that I used to make to protect for a switch at work I chose metal since it was easy to design and to bend all the corners are rounded and the edges filed but I'm afraid people could scratch themselves on it

Can you bend the edges over? That takes away the risk of getting cut on the edges. With the edges being so thin, I doubt any coating would help much.

If the perimeter is folded over or bent - what is there to file? How/where would the user get scratched?
Maybe a pic would better explain what you have.
