I would like to update a used wood bar cart (the shelves are laminate) I bought and I have seen the galvanized steel look at pottery barn and restoration hardware and I thought it would look great on the shelves of this bar cart. I want to use this cart for plants, so I need it to be pretty durable any ideas on how I can give it that look with paint? If not any ideas where I could find thin guage galvanized sheet metal?

Spray paint

I made a wood desk look like steel by priming it and then spray painting it with sliver paint. I then rubbed black paint into it, making it almost disapear. I am not sure how well this would adhere to laminate. Maybe someone else could shed some light on that part. As for buying metal, check out your local home improvement center. I bought a large sheet for a magnet board I made. They come in all sizes.
