I need to how much if any I need to thin kilz before applying it with a sprayer. The sprayer is a General Purpose type that holds about a quart. It is used with an aircompressor. What do you thin kilz with?

You are useing a cup gun, paints do need to be thinned before it will properly spray through a cup gun, kilz is fairly thin but I don't believe it is thin enough. Try putting about a cup of kilz in the cup and 1/4 cup of thinner (paint thinner, mineral spirits) and see how that works, practice on something other than the job at hand. It is going to run easier so thinner applications are nesasary. I use cup guns frequently for marine paints but I use an airless for kilz so you are going to have to play around with it, it may need more thinner (up to half and half), keep trying on a practice peice of trim or wood until it flows evenly and smooth, if it is sending out big drops then it is too thick, it should be the consistancy of a very fine mist.
