Is all naphtha the same?

Just bought a gallon of "Sunnyside" brand naphtha. Is it the same stuff as the "Kleen Strip VM&P" stuff?

It seems like it should be the same on a chemical level, I just wanted to make sure it would thin paint and perform as well as the VM&P by Kleen Strip.

Thanks!

If it is labeled naptha...and the chemical content (if labeled) is the same...it's the same stuff.

I never heard of naptha for thinning paint tho? Just a cleaner. Of course I'm not a painter.

Naptha is more or less a hot mineral spirits or paint thinner. There might be minute differences between brands but basically they are all the same.

That brand tends to use a lot of recycled material. When my customers have issues with solvents it is mostly with sunnyside.

I wasn't aware that anyone sold recycled thinner. While it should be ok for cleaning, I'd be a little leery of using it to thin coatings.
