Small hole in ceiling after blistering paint
Hi All -
Please let me know if there's a better forum for this question.
Bought this townhouse about 1.5 years ago and had everything painted from top to bottom. I just noticed a blister in the ceiling in my spare bedroom (I hardly ever go in there) on the top floor. After picking at it until the paint was more firmly attached to the drywall, I noticed a few small 1/8" holes in the drywall.
Does anyone have any idea what they could be? I fear termites but would love another pair of eyes before I start calling folks.

Any idea what this could be?
Thanks so much for your help!
Thanks,
Greg

The holes appear to be where someone was poking to find a ceiling rafter to hang a planter, etc. they repaired the holes with silicone, smearing it sideways. Silicone does not paint well. Not termites. Sand the area well, apply an oil based primer, then paint.

Paint blistering is usually caused by moisture, is that a water stain to the right? If it's a leak it will need to be fixed first. If it is silicone caulk
it's best to use a pigmented shellac like Zinnser's BIN, if it's a water stain most any oil base primer will do a good job of sealing it.

Aaah, I retract what I said. Those holes were to let water out from a dripping situation in the sheetrock. There is a problem above this that may need correction, like a leaking shower, or supply lines or drains. Good eyes Marksr.
