Smooth table top

Hi, I bought a used , probably more than 10 year old dining table, table had a lot of scratches , so applied rejunevating oil, then painted with high gloss finish, it looks good, however table top is not smooth, I sanded it once, To get smooth finish, what should I do?

You want to get rid of the wood grain? Or the finish you applied isn't smooth?

Is the finish compatible with the rejunevating oil? What did you use for a finish?

Generally a rough finish is caused by lack of sanding or dirty conditions or coating. The likely fix is to sand it smooth, remove the sanding dust and recoat. If there is grit/trash in the coating it needs to be strained first.

btw - welcome to the forums!
