Spray paint on vinyl
I hope this is the right forum section! I recently began redoing an old workout bench for my boyfriend as a gift, it used to be my fathers. I bought spray paint that adheres to vinyl/plastic. Last night I did the base layer in all black and it can out better than I imagined. However, with lack of research I was unaware of the "wait 24hrs before applying a 2nd coat rule." So this morning I spray paint using a stencil of a motivational quote in white and I fall victim to cracks and bubbles. It's not really something I can strip paint off of so that is not an option. So I'm wondering if there is a clear coat spray paint I can go over it with to prevent the white paint from pealing off onto his back when he it working out? I really need help, and any advice is much much much appreciated, thank you!

Welcome to the forums!
I would think you'd want to sand down the affected areas and then recoat them.
If you need to use a clear coat, a waterbased poly would likely be best. It's a little more flexible than solvent based coatings but it won't necessarily lock down any paint below it that doesn't have a good bond with the substrate.
