Question

I've applied a coat of polyurethane semi-gloss to oak molding. Do I need a second coat?

The more coats of clear you apply, the deeper and waxier it is going to appear, 2 coats minimal is recomended for clear coats, you would need to lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper, wipe away dust and apply at least one more coat for better results.

Thumbs up

Good tip, I applied two coats, sanding in between with 320 grit (store didn't carry 220), job looks great.
