Eggshell over semi

I painted my room with a light purple Glidden Latex Semi-gloss and I don't like the shine. I am wondering if I paint over in the same color using an eggshell finish If I will be able to get good results in one coat or if I should plan on two. Also could anyone recommend a brand that would adhere well to the semi or do I need to sand first?

I would use the same brand in an eggshell or satin, you should have no problems coating over the semigloss, as long as its latex on latex, you may need two coats to completely cover the semigloss, but you can try one and see how you like it and go from there. Just let it cure for a few days before putting any wear and tear on it
