Question Lifespan of Latex paint

I purchased "the wrong color" paint , according to the wife, for a room about 2 years ago. The can has been sealed and inside not in the garage or basement where it could get cold or hot. It has not been opened since the day I bought it and it was mixed.

I've now got a use for the paint and wonder if it is still good. I can bring it back to the store where I bought it and have them put it on the shaker to remix it if it will be ok.

It's probably ok but you won't know until you open it. The paint might need straining. I've seen latex paint go bad in a year while another gallon might still be ok 3-4 yrs later.

Shaking would be a great idea.
I do not even use pant paddles anymore.
I bought a paint stirrer long ago that you connect to a drill.
It forms what looks like a tornado when using it and just sucks up the solids settled to the bottom in seconds and blends it all together perfectly.

pant paddles

About the only time I ever use a stir stick is when I'm mixing colors. Usually I'll hand shake the can of paint and when that isn't sufficient I'll 'box' it back and forth between 2 buckets. I have a paint paddle but about the only time I use is with roof paint.
