Question Tape Required?

Stripped bathroom wallpaper. Heavy glue underneath, probably have cleaned enough off. Vertical wallboard joints, that are not corners, look as though they were not taped and joint compound applied. Do I need to do this before touch up and priming with Zinsser Gardz??

Yes, if you have untaped joints, they should be taped.

Why are you using Gardz - do you have areas of exposed gypsum?

Gardz [or an oil base primer] is needed to seal any wallpaper adhesive that didn't get removed.

I'm having a hard time comprehending why wallpaper was applied to unfinished drywall - could you post a pic or two? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

Ah, didn't read that clearly the first time - I thought you had all of the glue removed.
