Painting a photo frame

Hello

I intend to paint a small picture frame and planned to allow it to dry by hanging it by a piece of string to a curtain rail so that it wouldn't touch anything while drying, but it would show the mark of where the string had been, wouldn't it, when dry?

What is the best means of allowing it to dry without showing any marks where it may have touched anything?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums!

I'd insert cardboard or a wood slat [where the picture goes] and then lay it on something that would keep the frame above the work bench.

If I lay it on something, that something will leave an impression on the paintwork.

Hmmm, I could try it.

Thank you for your message.

I usually screw a small screw into a place that won't show when the frame has art in it, such as the inside edge, and then use a piece of string or wire to hang it from the screw. Sometimes you can use three screws or brads to make little feet and then you can just rest on a surface instead of hanging.

That sounds a great way of doing it - many thanks.

I didn't realize the frame had a picture in it. You could still place a wide slat or two just short of the width of the frame under it and set it on that. I also like CT's suggestions.

No photo yet, but CT's idea is good. I will try it out. Sounds clever
