Can lacquer be sprayed over a polyurethane finish?

Yes, you just want to scuff sand the poly first and wipe it with mineral spirits. Anytime you put two dissimilar products together there "may be" some unknown adhesion issues. But generally it will work fine.

Not all lacquers are compatible with oil base coatings so you might want to test a small area first. If it doesn't wrinkle - you should be good to go.
