My wife and I bought our house roughly a year ago. After doing the things you usually do after you move into a new house including painting and what not, if a door got bumped into or scraped with something the white paint came right off. Under the white paint is like a brown stain or something. It's hard for me to tell what it actually is. The interior doors were painted white before we moved in, but I also put a fresh coat on them to brighten them up. There is one closet door on one side of it is all brown. Doesn't really even look like stain. Looks like something possibly oil based. My house is too big to have to take each door off and sand everyone of them to get the paint to actually stick to it so when one of the boys or something bumps into one of them the paint doesn't scratch right off. Is there something else I could use?

I'm having trouble deciding on which paint for my den. I'm taking down the grasscloth wallpaper, priming with zinsser gardz, then painting. I've done this in the past, I used bennie moore regal. I see they have Advance, and natura. There is also Aura, a paint primer in one product. Sometimes I wonder if I should just go to the big box stores. The bennie moore store has moved, it's much smaller. It seems to cater to ordering online and picking it up. I asked some test questions the last time I was in and they were not as helpful as when I did my last major painting project. My friends that use big box paint have as beautiful walls as my expensive paint walls. That being said, I really don't want to move all this crap to paint again any time soon, so I want the best for my application. There is also a sherwin williams nearby so information on those products would be helpful as well. I guess it boils down to which product would be most suitable. I'm confused by the choices.
