Yes I have a lapped cedar siding house and I want to stain just 2 sides. The reason is the sun hits it on those 2 and it needs it the other 2 sides look great. My question is what is the best way to stain it? I had a painter do it before and he used a sprayer. It is the 2 smaller sides of the house and I don't think it would be worth it to buy a sprayer. It would be hard to use roller because of the siding being lapped. Well if anyone has any suggestion let me know. Thanks alot S.Jones

smj5169, Try a yard and garden sprayer. Most stains will spray very well through one. If buying one do get a good one like a Hudson and 2 or 2 1/2 gallons works well. Fill one third with stain and keep pumped up strongly at all times. Solid body stains can be thinned some to help spray. Even if you have to spray twice you would save time..Mike
