chipping latex paint on fireplace tile surround
Hi all,
I recently repainted some tile that surrounds our fireplace. I think I made a couple mistakes. First, I did not prime. Secondly, I used a latex paint - the same paint used on the walls in the living room.
See attached for the tiles (before) and now the resulting scratching.
I want to make this right. I don't know how I can remove the paint without either a big mess or a big headache, or if it's even worth it. I am considering priming over the current coat and then repainting with the same latex paint.
Thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks in advance; I appreciate this awesome forum.

Might be easiest to replace the tile!
I doubt a primer at this point would help much. When tiles are painted a tub and tile paint is used, never latex paint! At this point I'd probably just touch up as needed and plan for new tile in the future.

Painting tile, especially on the floor, is difficult to have work well. Personally, I would not have bothered; I would have lived with what you had or replaced it.

I figured that would be the response. Thanks for the input. Unless there are other suggestions, I may touch-up and shoot to replace the tile this fall.
I'm grateful for the responses, thanks again!
