countertop paint
I read reviews on counter top paints. Under 30$. They are not so great. Anyone find a paint that
really works on ugly formica counters??

Is this a kitchen counter ? I couldn't ever conceive of painting a countertop.
Is that your only choice ?

There is just no paint that can withstand the abuse of a kitchen counter. Some are better than others but none are really great. I would consider it a very temporary option. Do it if you want to squeeze one more year out of your counters but it's not a permenant fix.

I researched it a bit. IF you prep properly, sand etc and use a quality primer it can be done. I would want to put 2 coats of paint and 2 coats
of a high grade epoxy on top. Not just poly or acrylic.I will ask at Home Depot cause I know they have dealt with it before.
Its just too much work and money to go solid surface just to replace the hideous formica in rose/vomit color.

Please let us know how this works out - not just immediately afterward but long term, as I'm dubious about both the process and where you're choosing to get your products and advice.

If you are going to attempt this you need QUALITY paint, not the cheap crap they sell at the big box stores.
Go straight to a real paint store!!!!
