Can I spray one brand of lacquer over another?

Possibly a dumb question, but can I spray this:

Testors® One Coat Lacquer

over this:

Rust-Oleum 243826 Lacquer Spray

I wasn't sure if there were any issues with differences in the lacquer, or if lacquer is just lacquer and it makes no difference.

Separate question; any thoughts on how many coats of navy blue lacquer spray might be required to fully cover a red lacquer?

Thank you

As far as I know you can switch brands of lacquer with no issues.

Hard to say how many coats but since lacquer dries fast it shouldn't be a big deal.

I would certainly try a test spot, mixing paints/brands is a sure fire way to cause checking with is the chemical reaction of dissimilar coatings!

Just an update that I was able to spray the one lacquer over the other. Covered it up in just a few coats.
