Unhappy

I have a 50 yr old Cedar sided home, it appears to have been painted only twice and the second coat is begining to peel badly. I'm confident that I can remove the loose stuff, but up close you can always see the areas that were feathered. Finally, the question. Is it difficult to strip all of the paint down to the cedar either by belt sander or chemical? If I use belt sander would this cause problems by striping the finish off of the galvanized nails holding the siding on, thus setting me up for rust spots? Please help, this place is looking rough! Dennis,
Haven't used their products, but I've seen the name thrown around alot
http://www.dumondchemicals.com/html/peelaway.htm

at least in Texas, they're available at Sherwin Williams stores.

stripping cedar wood

I suggest you use the PEEL AWAY 7 product for your project. It will do the removal in one application and it is a safe remover.
