How To Safely Remove Door Hinges Having Dried Paint On Them

I know this will not be easy but how can I remove interior door hinges that has dried paint on them without splintering the wood around the hinge cutout?

I'm asking because I want to replace the hinges with new ones but I don't want to damage the doors.

Take a utility knife and cut the paint bond around the perimeter of the hinge.
If you do splinter the door a little it isn't a big deal to patch and paint it.

Remove the hinge pin first (assuming removable pins) to remove the door. Then you use a utility knife to carefully cut/trace around the edges. Once you remove the screws and pry under the hinge you still need to be very careful as you raise the hinge from the mortise, since you may not have cut all the way through the paint, which acts like glue.
