I cause my own problems. Oil based primer then latex paint? A problem?

I primed some 2x6s going on the outside of a shed. I used an old can of 'alkyd exterior primer' in my collection of paints in the basement and figured I'd use it to get rid of it.. I put the primer on and then went to rinse the brush in a water bucket... and realized that it was oil based. I woulnd't have thought I had any oil based products.

Will that be a problem when I paint over it with behr premium latex satin exterior paint?

No that is not a problem. In fact it's probably better.

Latex paints can almost always be successfully applied over dry oil base primer. As X noted, the oil base primer will do a better job of sealing the wood than it's latex counterpart.

Latex will go over any primer. Oil based paint will go over anything. The only time you have a problem is if you try to put latex based paint over oil based paint.

Actually it's ok to apply latex house paint over weathered oil base house paint. Generally it's not a good idea to apply exterior oil base paint over latex. Inside the rules change as oil base will do fine over latex paint but latex won't always adhere if applied over oil base enamel.
