Paint peeling around shower edge after wallpaper was removed.
I removed al the old wallpaper around my mom's shower to update the bathroom.
After I got all the wallpaper off, the paint where the shower met the drywall was noticeable peeling/chipping. As I peeled some off, it just kept peeling and there was damage to the drywall underneath...
What's the best way to handle it? Paint over? Chip away all the old paint? Mud over it?
Appreciate any advice. New to the DIY arena.

I'd scrape off all the loose, prime the bare gypsum and then fill in as needed with joint compound. Sand when dry, prime and paint. You'd also want to caulk around the top lip of the shower.
