Painting laminate table top

All, I have a kitchen table that has a laminate tabletop and wood edges. I'm painting it & have learned I can either sand, prime with high adhesion primer then paint or paint with a paint that has high adhesion such as PPG's Breakthrough. I've read that there's a learning curve to use Breakthrough but no specifics other than it dries fast. Anyone have any info? Or an other suggestions? I'll be rolling and brushing whatever I use on. Thanks much.

You can also use a counter top paint kit since you basically have the same thing. Whatever you choose I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have not seen any product that holds up what I would consider well. In my mind they are all temporary solutions until you have the money to do something more permenant.

After you've painted the table be careful about scratching. Use place mats under plates and trivets or hot pads under serving dishes and pots and try to be careful about other things on the table that might scratch.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I'll look into those products too.
