Exterior Painting of rendered wall

Hello everyone, in was trying to paint a small exterior area which was already rendered long time back by myself. But there were lots of holes and i used white filler to fill it and then painted the complete wall with white color after sanding the patches.
But now all the patches are visible, is there a way i can hide those.
Should i use a different color to hide it ? Or how many coats of white is needed ?

Thanks
Joseph

I see the word rendered in a lot of posts from UK with reference to walls. I have never known exactly what it means to render a wall. Make it smooth? Give it a texture? What kind? or does to render mean something else?

Welcome to the forums Joseph!

The patches need to be primed first so another coat might be enough but if the patches were poorly done or the texture [or lack of] is different they will also show.

Pics might be helpful - https://www.doityourself.com/forum/e...-pictures.html
