Is there a way to tell how many coats of paint have been applied? My contract calls for a primer coat over new drywall and two topcoats. The painter used Sherwin Williams Super Paint (paint and primer in one) in all rooms except the bathrooms and kitchen. We've had 2 callbacks already, one to repaint a ceiling that had exposed drywall joint compound, and the other to correct punch list holidays in the paint. We have areas where unsanded drywall was painted over - you know how easy that is to fix. Did I get less than I expected, and paid for, by her using a paint and primer (I am not a fan but no one asked me). I suspect that she may have short coated us in most rooms because some of the holidays showed bare drywall. There are areas cut in around door trim that are white. I can't tell if it's bare drywall or a white undercoat.

I have previously painted my metal roof with Henry Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating. It is a good product but basically comes in two colors. I haven't been able to find much on painting over this material. I would love to move to a more traditional paint - the fibered aluminum is a real bear to work with. Can anyone point me in the right direction here?
