Popcorn ceiling removed, now what's next?
Hello all, I finally removed the horrendous popcorn ceiling, I tried doing it with a wet/dry vac and the 6 inch knife and took forever so went old school. Now that I have removed the popcorn ceiling what's next, I assume sanding? I been giving advice to wet sanding since it's less dusty, can anyone outline what else do I need to do after removing the popcorn ceiling and any products I need to use. I want able to remove all the furniture so I covered it with plastic.

Dry sanding shouldn't be a big deal as you will only lightly sand. Smoothing out drywall with a set sponge is mostly when making repairs. If you get the drywall too wet you could damage it. The odds are you'll need to skim coat or at least dress up the drywall prior to priming.

You asked for advice. What finish are you going for? Smooth or are you doing a troweled or brush texture?

So I started sanding and noticed a lot of dust, so I got a sponge and tried to remove any remaining bits, after it dries I will start sanding. Once sanded do I have to put in Gardz sealer? Or do I just fill in any imperfections with spackle and sand again and then prime?

You do need to prime the mudded portions of your ceiling to seal the mud. If you don't the mud areas will absorb your top coat and the mudded areas will telegraph through the paint and be visible. It's doesn't have to be a fancy or stain blocking primer. They sell inexpensive sheetrock primers just for the task and they work well enough.
