Chrome Olympic Barbell

I have a chrome Olympic barbell that the chrome is chipping off. Is there a chrome paint that I can use to restore it?

I have been researching the rustoleum but there has been mixed reviews.

There are chrome paints but they dont last long on outdoor usage but clean it and go for it!

Those bars are usually electroplated in a dipping process.
I don't think you'll find a paint that is that strong.

There are places around that still re-chrome bumpers. They could dip that bar.
You might also look into powder coating.

There is no replacement for chrome plating. You can paint the area to help prevent rust but nothing will ever be the same or as good as chrome. I like to use stainless steel paint. It doesn't look like chrome but it's pretty durable and corrosion resistant but nothing will stand up to setting heavy dumbbells' down on a hard surface.

The information provided on this topic is very useful and all new to me. Thank you for saving me the time by preventing me going down a rabbit hole with regular paint and expectations.
