Cleaning an antique shoe shine box
I recently purchased an antique shoe shine box on Etsy, specifically this one.

I have rather severe allergies and when I come across mold/mildew/dust/pet dander etc. my allergies are triggered and I can feel it from my nostrils to my ears. I got the ear reaction as soon as I opened the package it arrived in. I'm wondering what would be the best way to clean this without fading the paint or changing the patina. I'll be using it as my shoe shine box so I'll be handling it regularly - it won't be just stacked in a corner for decorative purposes. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks
