Paint second coat after rain?

I put two coats of primer and one coat of paint on my front wrought iron railing over the past few days. Top coat was dry for about 8 hours yesterday before it light-rained off and on overnight. I'd like to put another top coat on. Should I wipe it down with acetone first? Mineral spirits? Don't bother?

Thanks.

As long as it's dried off from the rain it's good to go. A quick scuff sand wouldn't hurt.

You didnt say what type of paint was used, if something like oil based yes a mild solvent will work, if latex I'd just wipe it down with water.

No need to remove the spots if you are applying another coat of paint. A mild solvent like mineral spirits may remove the spots if you don't want to apply another coat of paint.

I just didn't know if the rain would cause the second coat to not stick. I'll put the second coat on and not worry. Thanks, guys.
