Preping Wall
#1
Guys I need help:
This is the situation: I am painting my bathroom and the old paint has peeled of in some areas and in other areas is sound to paint over. I have some idea how to go to smooth the areas where the paint has fallen off but, in some areas the drywall is showing. So, I was thinking to just go ahead and remove all the old paint, is there a product out there that will loosen the old paint or removing the paint is just not necesary. Other questions is the wall has a texture that I hate and I would like to have a very smooth wall with no texture on it, how do I do it? Do I have to replaster the whole wall? Is there a thick primer in the market that will let me cover the old texture and make the wall smooth? Thanks in advance for your help.

patching bathroom walls
I am finally at the paint stage, after days of work patching, and repairing our bathroom walls. I also, thought taking off that old thick peeling paint was the right thing to do, however, my husband is a contractor, and a few of his buddies are painting contractors. I apparently was wrong. They explained how to use, and feather in joint compound to even up the walls, and stop the peeling. It was mucho hard work, but today it looks awesome, it is smooth, and ready for primer!
