What type of product to seal painted outdoor decoration?
My ex repainted an outdoor Christmas decoration for a local customer and isn't sure what product to use to seal the piece to ensure it holds up to the outdoor elements. The base is plywood and the paint is acrylic. Would spraying it with a clear exterior paint do the trick and hold up over time, or is there a better way? Here's a partial photo of the piece:
I'd consider a water based spar poly. You don't want to use the oil base version as it will alter most of the colors on the piece. An automotive clear might be an option.
Howdy everyone. Im replacing some decades old door hinges that have leaked a substance that's similar to tree sap. It's a thick, yellow, sticky goo that's gotten on the wood trim. I've tried goof off with no luck. I wanted to thoroughly clean the area before installing the new hinges. Any cleaning products someone could recommend to remove this stuff? I added some pic of said sustace. Thank you in advance for your comments!

Has anyone been successful in using this paint for semi-complex painting (e.g. six panel door)? Having done my fair share of painting (home and auto) I know the value of wet edges. Unfortunately keeping one seems near impossible with this paint.
Current project is a six-panel door and to make it easy the door is laid flat on saw horses in a 70° room and using quality brushes. I was originally prepared to LVLP the door, then contemplated rolling, but finally decided on brushing as it's a new smooth fiberglass door and I wanted to offer some semblance of grain (which this paint does do well, a nice subtle effect). Sadly though, no matter how quickly I work or even section off the panels I find this paint dry edging in less than a minute (or two at most).
Any tips for when using this paint or maybe insight as to some sort of extender agent similar to Penetrol used with oil based paints?Read More
