I want to paint over pre-pasted wallpaper. I'm not gonna remove the wallpaper becuase it was put up to cover problem walls in an old house and I'm not gonna start repalstering or re-sheetrocking the walls. The wallpaper is in good shape, it's not peeling, but the room has to be changed for a little girl from a baby's room. What is the best way to go about this?

Just finished the same project. I used Shields to seal the wallpaper ( you could use Kilz , I like water-based but I've been told oil would be better ). Instead of just painting right over the flat wall I used a texture paint first to give the walls a bit of character ( rolled out with a sea sponge roller ) then painted over with a latex satin. Looks great and beats removing wallpaper and repairing walls.
