I need to seal plywood subflooring that has serious cat urine stains/odor. I have seen the Zinsser stain blocking primer products as well as Kilz -- which one would be best?

Thanks -- Dana

dbrigham, In order: Zinsser or Parks shellec based primer sealer, Zinsser oil primer, KILZ Original. The shellac base primer would be best but the oil will do and is not nearly as hard on the senses as shellac....Mike

Thanks Mike -- I guess you mean the fumes of the shellac version are bad, right? How bad -- like how long should my six kids and pregnant wife be out of the house while I apply the stuff and let it dry?

Well, Its awefully loud when wet but dries in 30 minutes. If there was a way to do it in the AM and have a little ventilation it will be OK in mid afternoon. Please do be careful with the wife breathing this stuff....Mike
