I have bought a house that has wood trim that has been stained. I am planning on painting the walls a neutral color and would like to paint the wood trim white. Can trim that has been stained be painted white or do I have to prepare the trim in some way to be painted?

elle, Sand lightly with 220 grit and prime with an oil primer. This will give you a good base to begin caulking, putty, finish sanding(again with 220) and topcoat...Mike
