Question

We are painting outside of our home which is stucco. One of the walls is covered with ivy. I have taken the ivy off, but there are still "tracks" from the roots all over the walls. How do we get rid of these so we can finish painting? Is there any product available that will remove these tracks?

mkd4, I feel your pain! Where I live this stuff grows all year long. To remove the tracks I use a portable grinder with a wire brush. Thats all I know that will do it. It seems that there should be a spray on, wash off chemical to do the job but I don't know what that would be. Even after wire brushing if an oil based exterior primer is not used bleeding can occur.....Mike
