I started painting my kitchen, but before I started I washed all the walls and then I put a coat of Kiltz, a primer-sealer on and then I started painting with latex paint. After it dried I noticed that the paint was coming off in strips instead of sticking to the wall, what is the problem. Also can you put oil-based paint over latex.

baking8, A couple of questions. Was the primer water based like KILZ II or the oil. It shouldn't matter, either should provide a good base for latex or oil paint. The only thing I can think of is what kind of paint did you use and did you thin it any?....Mike

Same thing happened to me. Kilz and then latex and then huge pieces of paint hanging off the ceilings and walls. I had the paint stirred at the paint store, used it immediately and didn't thin it. Please tell us what's going on and what we can do!
