Paintng a MDF door
#1
'm painting a new, factory-primed mdf four paneled door, using top quality semi gloss latex paint and top quality paint brush. My problem is two fold. 1. the paint is drying before I get it brushed on. 2. I'm getting brush strokes. I want this to be perfect and I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?

AnneDIY,
Latex paint does dry very quickly, especially if it is a flat or satin finish. One trick that some painters use is to add something to the paint that will give you a longer 'wet edge' or more working time. For solvent based paint it is called 'penetrol' and for latex paint it is called 'flowtrol'(I am not sure of the spelling. See if it works for you. You may still have to work a little fast.
