I need to repaint my half bath, which also happens to be the place where I dye my hair. I try to be careful, but the occasional brown dye spot invariably shows up on the walls. I'd like to repaint with white or off-white colors, so the question is: What kind of paint is hard enough that hair dye stains can be wiped or washed off easily?

The half bath is hardly ever used, so the paint does not necessarily have to be mildew-resistant like a typical bathroom paint.

Thanks!

Houseman,
Assuming that the dye you use is a water based dye (check to see if it is), I would recommend that you paint your bathroom with a oil based semigloss or even gloss finish, if you like a gloss finish. The dye marks as they come off your hair will be somewhat dilute and as they dry on the oil based finish, they should be able to be wiped off.

Thanks for the advice, Painter. The dye is water based. I'll make sure I buy a top-quality paint.
