Question

I have a wood siding home and as I have been looking for what type of paint to buy I seem to be getting alot of different opinions. Dou you use oil based paints or water based arkrilic? I ask this because everybody has a different opinion on these products, I am told oil base does not let the would breath but water based does, I don't know, help?

rtoubiah, If oil is not on the home now latex is the way to go. If there is a chance oil is the present finish(if any) wash with TSP, prime with an oil primer and use any good latex house paint. If you want to skip the oil primer on all but new wood wash with TSP and top coat with waterborne enamel.....Mike
