Oil paint

Hi. I am painting an old poorly maintain pine floor with oil-base floor paint. I've never used oil paint before, and would appreciate any advice. Does it really need 24 hours to cure between coats? Can I use polyurethane to protect it? Thank you.

j66, It would take 12-24 hours before you could walk on a floor. I see no need for a coat of poly because a good floor enamel is made up of poly. If you want it glossy use high gloss. You can apply this paint by cutting around the edges with a brush and use a 1/4inch mohair roller cover and it will self level as it drys.....Mike
