Question painting my floor

I have wood (not hardwood) floors in my upstairs bedrooms and want to paint them white.
The magazine I got the idea from said to use Benjamin Moor's Decorator's White Paint, but didn't say anything about prepping the surface with a primer, etc....
What would be a good alternative to use besides the Benjamin Moor??? Maybe something I could pick up at Home Depot???
Would appreciate any information you guys could give me on this!!!

Benjamin Moor'es Dec. White is only the color. What product are you going to use by them? Sherwin Williams makes two products that would work. Latex Floor Eanamel and Armor Seal Tread Plex which is much more expensive and durable. Both come in a standard white or can be tinted. Just make sure the surface is clean, dull, and dry before painting.
