Question Latex over oil?

I have peeling walls. I believe that I painted over oil based paints (my hubby was SURE it was latex!) . Now to fix it? I realize I have to sand, peel and re-prime , but with what? Can I prime with a latex primer or do I have to use oil paints forever? My kids are now peeling off the paint and thinking it's great! I don't want them to eat it! I have to do it right away.

answer

I think there is an answer to your question from 1-28-02
Just look back a bit. I had the same question too & found the answer.
Better to use oil based primer and then latex paint over that.
Chipfo - correct me if I am wrong.
Chipfo please correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks.
Also if you?re not in too much of the hurry you can texture the wall
It's somewhat involved process so I'm not sure if you are
Willing to do it.
