Question Painting Louvered Interior Shutters

Our sliding glass door has bifold louvered wooden interior shutters. They are in good condition except for the color. They are painted gray, and don't go with the color we have now painted the walls. I would like to paint them white.

What is the best way to go about this - spraying? brushing? I am so afraid of messing it up. The louvers move and I don't want them to get stuck. They look to be high quality shutters, and I really don't want to mess them up with a sloppy paint job, yet I really don't have to money to have it professionally done.

Any suggestions???
