Painting open rooms that share walls?

Hello:

I don't know the correct terminology, but my home has rooms that are open, or in other words, they aren't boxed rooms. I have cathedral ceilings and the family room, kitchen and living room all share the same walls. So my dilema is that I want to paint each room a different color, but I don't know how to do this. It would look strange to have a paint line where the kitchen stops and the family room starts. Hope this makes sense and could use advice.
Thanks.

PS - I also have rounded corners on the walls and don't know what to do about that either.
