Outside brick

Before anyone say's it. I know, "Why do you want to paint your brick, the maintance, etc. etc. etc." Well, we cleaned the brick this weekend and it looks Ok for now. Our house was built in 62 with used brick and it will never have the look we really want. There are a few houses in our neighborhood and some I have seen around town that have painted brick and we are considering doing that in the future. That said....

Is there a special paint or prep needed to paint outside brick??

As long as it's clean and well dried, no problem. If you prime it first, you'll use less paint, but it's more labor. You can then paint it with a good exterior latex.
