Unhappy peeling paint

I am repainting a bedroom for the first time. There's a lot of peeling pain on the walls. Iv'e scraped off as much as possible, but it never seems to end. All the really loose stuff has been removed pretty good. I guess my question is this. Will a good primer cover the old paint and the spots where I scraped without looking crappy? Would appreciate any help. I should also add that the walls are plaster and the previous paint was latex. I'm hoping the primer will work because I don't trust myself sanding. Thanks for any help someone could provide.

Feather sand the edges of your paint craters, remove all the dust, prime the walls with oil, paint with new latex. The oil will keep the water in the latex from soaking into the plaster again.

Sure...Moore's make a good sealer (product 200-00), but as long as you buy a quality product, you'll be fine.
