Question Painting Popcorn Ceiling

Help!! I am repainting the interior of an old house that has a heavily textured popcorn ceiling. I have tried to use a brush and a roller with very poor results. I do not have a paint sprayer and the area that needs painting is too small to justify buying one. "Punching" the paint into all the crevasses with a brush just about wore me and my son out after covering only a sq. ft. or so. Any suggestions?

Lightbulb Popcorn ceiling

We have a really heavy popcorn ceiling - you need to buy a thicker roller.

My husband said he bought the thickest one - (by thickest I mean furriest) I think he said it was described as "extra rough"

It worked wonderfully!
Good luck!

Dear Anxioushomeowner, Thanks for the tip! The folks at Home Depot will probably thank you, too; I'm spending enough money there!
