Texture paint on a ceiling?
I have used a texture paint made by Valspar on my walls before with great success. My kitchen ceiling was painted with a gloss paint which is showing quite a few blemishes. I have prepped the surface for a new coat of primer and paint by deglossing the surface with a sander.
Can a texture paint be used on a ceiling? I asked the guys at the big orange store but they did not know the answer.

Hello Housemarried, answer to your question is yes, you can use the texture material on your ceiling. I would prime first and since you have sanded would say a latex primer like KILZ Total One, KILZ II or Zinsser 123 would do the job. If heavy cooking, smoking or any other type of bleeder is suspected go to an oil primer to hold any of this back. Good luck....Mike
