paint finish

I just painted my stairway with a satin finish paint (2 coats). However, I can see roller marks when ascending and descending the stairs. What did I do wrong?

Roller marks in paint

Roller marks are usually caused by rolling into paint that has already begun to set up. Keeping a wet edge will prevent this.

We have extremely ugly wood paneling in our living room and want to change it without breaking the bank. The room was originally a two car garage and the previous owner closed it off and when they remodel it the bottom part of the walls are panel. Painting over the panel was ruled out and removing it is also out of the question. I saw a remodeling episode on how to cover paneling on a cable series but when I went to the web site there wasn't any information on the project. It looked as though the designer took brown craft paper, dipped it into a water & paste mixture and then put it on the paneling and when it dried it was supposed to look like leather or something. I haved tried to explain or even find a sample of this project but have hit road block. Any suggestions?Read More
