Question brands of paint - which is best

Does anyone have experience with the following brands of paint?
Ralph Lauren (not textured)
Glidden
Behr Premium Plus
Dutch Boy
Sears Easy Living

I'm interested in knowing how well the various paints covered the walls - did it work in one coat, or did it take two or three?

Thanks!
Cheryl

Consumer Reports

You may want to check out this month's issue of Consumer Reports (June, 2002) because they rate interior paints. Valspar's American Traditions (Lowe's) rated the best and was also considered a 'best buy.' Sears rated well in one category, as well, but I'll have to get back to you on which one.

Good luck!

Every person that I know who has painted as a side job swears by Benjamin Moore paints. I believe they were not reviewed by consumer reports.(?)

I read the CR articles - and avoided Sears, Dutch Boy, Martha Stewart, Behr & Ralph Lauren because the article said they faded a lot.
I went with True Value EZ Care Satin paint, tinted in colors off a Dutch Boy paint strip. It was $18 a gallon, and it went on in one coat with a HomeRight Paint Stick. I used a fairly dark color, and didn't need to go over it with a second coat. I was thrilled!
Thanks for the tips!
